The repeal-aumf.org project exists quite simply to see Public Law 107-40, "Auhtorization for Use of Military Force" either repealed or struck down by the courts. As explained more fully on the site's main page, AUMF is unconstitutional on its face, and in practice has proven to be not only ineffective for its stated aims but damaging to the integrity of our Constitution and the inalienable rights and liberties of our citizens.
repeal-aumf.org is a strictly volunteer organization. We are pursuing establishment of non-profit status, but at present simply come together to do what we can do with what we have. The repeal-aumf.org blog reflects our ongoing activities and concerns, and you are invited not only to read it but to add your comments.
It bears mentioning that the repeal-aumf.org project is by definition non-partisan. No President should be granted war powers based on reasoning as shoddy as that which supported passage of AUMF. Protecting the rights and liberties of our citizens, protecting the integrity of our Constitution, these things fall to all patriots of all political affiliation.
